Online Recipe Generator

With recipes generator (.rtk), you can enter your recipes online and quickly import in My Recipe Box.

The recipe generator is a free, browser-based tool that lets you create recipes from your computer, then export them as a single backup file called .rtk. Open that file from your phone or tablet and the My Recipe Box app will import every recipe in one step.

Why use this generator?

• You have a recipe on a site which is not compatible with My Recipe Box.
• You do not want to enter your recipe on your phone or tablet because it's too tedious.
• You are copying recipes from a paper cookbook, a handwritten card, or notes — typing on a full keyboard is faster than on a phone.
• You want to prepare a batch of recipes in advance and import them into the app on multiple devices.

How to use?

1. Just click on the "New Recipe" button, fill in the fields and then "Save".
2. You can do this several times. Once you have finished entering your recipes, click "Create Backup".
3. Download the file "myrecipes.rtk" then send it by email and click the attachment to restore the backup in My Recipe Box.
4. You can also copy the file to your device and open it.

About the .rtk format

The .rtk extension is an open, documented zip archive used by My Recipe Box for backups and exports. It contains your recipes as JSON plus their images, so you can move your library between devices without depending on any cloud service. The format specification is published on GitHub.

For information, all your recipes are saved in your browser.
